Choirs and Ensembles
Holy Trinity's Junior Choir
Our churchs
music program is varied and exciting. The goal of all our music ministry is to proclaim
the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to lift up our hearts to God.
Senior Choir
Senior Choir is open to people high school age through adult. The Senior Choir currently
numbers between 40-50 people, depending on the time of year. (Our numbers are larger
during the winter months.) The Sr. Choir meets from mid-August through mid-May, and leads
worship approximately 3 out of every 5 Sundays. They perform an Advent/Christmas and
Lent/Easter Cantata each year.
Junior Choir
The Junior Choir is open to second through sixth graders. It numbers between 30-40 young
people. In addition to vocal music, the choir plays handbells and Orff instruments, and
individual young people may also accompany on orchestral instruments from time to time.
Junior Choir sings approximately every 3 weeks from August through May. In early June,
members of the Junior Choir lead the worship service and perform a musical as the
"sermon".
Youth
Ensemble Choir
The Youth Choir is open to junior and senior high school youth. At this time, the choir
performs only at Christmas Eve and at Easter. Numbers vary, according to the season. We
are interested in expanding this choirs involvement in music ministry.
Orchestra
The Church Orchestra is open to anyone who has completed a full year of training (private
or public school) on their instrument, through adult. The Orchestra plays 4-5 times per
year at present, at one or two services. The music and music stands are provided, but
musicians must furnish their own instruments, and reeds, valve oil, etc.
Instrumental Ensembles
We have a clarinet and a brass ensemble that perform at various times during the year.
Ensemble members are recruited from the orchestra and participation is by invitation.
Contemporary Worship Team
The Contemporary Worship Team is comprised of guitar, piano, drums, keyboard, violin and
string bass, and vocal music, sometimes with "guest" instrumentalists. This team
leads worship once per month. Music at our contemporary worship services includes a
variety of traditional/folk and multicultural music, as well as contemporary praise songs.
Members of this group are recruited and participation is by invitation.
Handbells
Complete with five Octaves of bells and chimes, the two Bell Choirs lead worship once per
month. Rehearsals on Thursday evening include practice, training in new skills and
techniques, fellowship and support. Experienced and first-time ringers are welcome.
Director, Jane Allenstein is considering the start of a third Bell Choir for new and
beginning ringers.
